‍Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's multi award-winning show
DIRECTOR Jane Sackman

In the summer of 1967, Andrew Lloyd Webber was asked by Alan Doggett, head of the Music Department at Colet Court, St Paul's Junior School to write a ‘pop cantata' for the school choir to sing at their Easter end of term concert. Andrew immediately approached his friend Tim Rice to ask if he would write lyrics for the project. After toying with ideas about spies, 007′s and the like, Tim suggested the story of Joseph.

The first West End production opened in February 1973 at the Albery Theatre, with the Broadway production premiering at the Royale Theatre in New York in January 1982, this production was nominated for 7 Tony Awards and the 1991 West End revival was nominated for 6 Laurence Olivier Awards, winning Best Set Designer these were following by a 1999 film with Donny Osmond.

The Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colours comes to life in this delightful musical.
Joseph is his father's favourite son and has a talent for interpreting dreams. When he is sold into slavery by his jealous brothers and taken to Egypt, Joseph goes on a series of adventures in which his courage and kind-heartedness are continually challenged.

Told entirely through song and set to a variety of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock ‘n' roll, this Old Testament tale emerges both timely and timeless.

This version has been specifically tailored for a youth cast with a run time of approximately 60 minutes and a backing track recorded with live musicians.
