We are really looking forward to Daniel Herscovitch performing Beethoven's gigantic Hammerklavier Sonata at the Central Coast Conservatorium of Music on Sunday 8 September.
Concert pianist and Sydney Conservatorium of Music, The University of Sydney Associate Professor of Piano, Daniel is one of the most intelligent and talented musicians around. He brings an incredible amount of knowledge of style and history in his performance without making it a musicological exercise.
He is a passionate performer.
One needs to be to tackle the Hammerklavier! It is dazzlingly difficult, a fearsome challenge to concentration and memory, a tortuous task for fingers forced to trill for impossible lengths of time. Trills on the piano at their simplest are not something to be seen as easy! These are famously not!
Over all this is the wonderful heroic and exciting music of the late Beethoven.
Tickets: $35 from Humanitix
