At 630pm, Flickerfest's Best Of Australian Shorts celebrates stunning award-winning stories including films with Newcastle connections from filmmakers who grew up locally, including Flickerfest winner of Best Direction What's In A Name' from director Kalu Oji, who grew up and went to school in Lambton and the heartwarming Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge' from producer Caleb Irwin, born and raised in Waratah and a graduate of Newcastle Uni.

The Australian line up includes award-winning short, Yeah The Boys', winner of Best Australian short with a stunning soundtrack from the Avalanches and catch screen legends Bruce Spence starring in the moving short Coldwater' and Michael Caton in the fun comedy Ashes'.

At 9pm, the funniest Flickerfest shorts hit the big screen with the Short Laughs Comedy programme from at home and around the world, get ready to giggle with NZ's hilarious Good Luck', clever off-kilter Australian shorts Room For One More', and the stunning bank heist comedy The Bank Manager', the colourful and hilarious life of UK's Linda', delightful Irish short Cantata' and many more.
