Gerard's theatrical interests began at a young age in New Zealand with ensemble roles in "The Wizard of Oz" & "Oliver" in the late 70s. He gained his first major lead as Will Parker in "Oklahoma" (1987), going on with roles in "Show Boat", "West Side Story", & "Evita" (1990). He has also performed in the wind section of orchestras for many shows including "Jesus Christ Superstar". Studying Performing Arts with Trinity College (London) he gained an Associate Diploma. Gerard has appeared on the Central Coast in a variety of shows for Woy Woy Little Theatre, Wyong Drama Group, Wyong Musical Society, Gosford Theatre Company and Gosford Musical Society. Highlights include "Picasso at Lapin Agile", "The Pirates of Penzance", Chicago", "South Pacific", "Les Misérables", "42nd Street" and most recently "Clue: On Stage". He is a 30 year career commercial voice actor with clients across the world.
